Director of Business Performance, LHW
Hakan Ozakbas is hospitality professional with expertise in international luxury hotel development and operations through marketing, sales, distribution and finance. With an engineering undergrad degree and a MBA from University of Central Florida, Ozakbas can distill complex business strategies into efficient tools and successful outcomes. He is motivated by developing memorable customer service experiences and in creating personalized opportunities for luxury service.
Formerly, as Director of Analytics and Financial Reporting for LHW, Ozakbas was focused on providing business intelligence to the entire organization as well as to member hotels. His team was responsible for building statistical tools, providing insights on market trends as well as outlining areas of opportunities for financial improvement of the company and its member properties. He has worked closely with LHW member hotels and LHW’s executive team to build efficient statistical models for teams to understand the risks and returns on various investments through innovative and creative solutions.
This unique experience has been a gateway for his current role at LHW as he now oversees the revenue and quality performance of 90 LHW hotels in The Americas region (North, South & Central America, Mexico, Canada and Caribbean). LHW is the largest luxury hotel collection, close to 440 hotels and resorts in over 80 countries and 300 cities.
Prior to joining LHW, Ozakbas worked as Director of Operations for The O Property Collection, a boutique luxury hotel development, he managed the development of luxury hotels in the Caribbean. His Turks & Caicos project’s hallmark, Mandarin Oriental Hotel & Residences, received global attention from media, investors, trendsetters and affluent individuals. As the right hand to the founder and CEO, Ozakbas and his team were responsible for all components of development, from construction, and finance to marketing and sales.
Ozakbas believes in continuous learning and completed a certificate program on Hotel Revenue Management through eCornell. He also lends his professional knowledge to cross-functional workshops at LHW. He created lesson plans for 10 global business leadership seminars, where he traveled the world and trained his global colleagues at LHW. He also regularly participates as a guest lecturer at Cornell University, School of Hotel Administration.
Ozakbas is a community leader and participates in social responsibility platforms. He serves as a board member for FABSIT(Friends of American Board Schools in Turkey), which raised $7-million USD over the last 10 years for the financially unprivileged children in Turkey.
Ozakbas is an avid runner as he has completed full marathons in New York, Tokyo and Barcelona. His current goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
