Why are you nominating this candidate?
Edurne is the Head Concierge of one of the most renowned and unique hotels in Spain, Hotel María Cristina, A Luxury Collection by Marriott . She has always stand out for her commitment to any project she is part of , endeavour to achieve results, and leadership skills. Her passion, empathy and local knowledge make her the person of reference in San Sebastian and the Basque region. Also, she is always supporting her colleagues to assist them. She believes that it is only through teamwork and friendship that she achieves her goal of making guests´ journey a memorable and unique one.
Edurne highlights that being part of Les Clefs d´Or is essential in the increasingly growing and demanding travel industry. The association allows her to have all the necessary resources to be the destination authority in the Basque Country region. In Northern Spain Les Clef´s d´Or is hardly unknown for people that does not work in the tourism industry. She is willing to broadcast to Spain as well as all other countries with fewer number of Les Clef´s d´Or members, what the associations stands for and the importance of belonging to it.
Describe the process you used to select your candidate:
Edurne was awarded with the 3rd “Alfredo Molero Award” , which is given to the best young concierge (under 35 y/o) in Spain, named after our first official president in Les Clefs d’Or Spain. During our last AGM in Gerona Edurne had to introduce herself as a member, she was asked about the history of our association both nationally and internationally, and was asked to explain what Les Clefs d’Or means to her and what she can do for the association, how she can get involved.
This all happens in front of a jury who will later decide which concierge will receive the award in that year and will represent Spain in the International General Congress of the year after participating as candidate for Les Clefs d’Or award.
